Partners launch online safety campaign - 'Share Aware'

The Council is helping keep children safe online by supporting the NSPCC's‘Share Aware’ campaign and rolling it out across Cannock Chase District.

Keeping children safe online is a great concern for parents.  The ‘Share Aware’ campaign aims to provide straightforward advice to parents of 8-12 year old children. It will help reassure parents, and provide useful information to keep their children safe online.  It was launched in January 2015 and has been endorsed by Staffordshire Police.

Local primary schools across the District have received a campaign pack which consists of ‘A parents’ guide for children staying safe online’ and a promotional banner to be displayed outside the school. Both of which have been produced by the NSPCC.

The campaign is being delivered in partnership with the NSPCC and Staffordshire Police and is being funded by the local Police and Crime Commissioner’s Locality Deals Fund.

Various other resources have been developed and are available to access online direct from the NSPCC.
